Gantom FAQs

Gantom FAQs

What voltage should I use with Gantom fixtures?
All of our DMX controllable spotlights take 12-24 VDC. Non-DMX units are either 12VDC ONLY, or 12-24VDC. Each fixture will have their input voltage range listed on the packaging or the data sheet.

What is the lifetime of your LED fixtures?
All of our LED fixtures are all rated for over 50,000 hours. Our LED fixtures have internal regulators and are thermally engineered to ensure optimal operating conditions for the internal LED, thus prolonging the lifespan of our fixtures.

How far can your fixtures project?
Gantom fixtures were designed for close-range, controlled light environments. While some of our fixtures are capable of more range, we recommend using Gantom fixtures at a distance of between 3 and 10 feet (about 1-3 meters).

Can I power your fixtures from a battery?
Because our fixtures are low wattage and low voltage, you can often run Gantom fixtures off of a battery for a finite period of time. For permanent applications, we strongly recommend a continuous power source.

Can I use your LED fixtures outdoors?
For permanent, outdoor applications use our Storm series lights. The Storm series offers a range of fixtures covering all of your exterior micro spotlight needs.

How far can I run wires to the fixtures?
Typically one can run 18 gauge wire several hundred feet to connect to our fixtures without worrying about voltage drop. Since most of our fixtures have internal regulators to compensate for varying input voltage, the voltage drop over a long distance should not affect the brightness of the fixture. However, if a significant number of fixtures are running from the same wire, we recommend using lower gauge (thicker) wire to allow for more current to flow.

I need documentation or data for a particular fixture.
User guides, data sheets, and IES files are available on our website. For quick access to data sheets, go to: https://www.gantom.com/product-cut-sheets/ If you need a 3D model of a fixture, we can provide STEP files for most fixtures and accessories. Please email support@gantom.com for models and other data requests.
